1. Agreement

By using Balance News, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app or website.

2. What Balance News provides

Balance News is a news-comparison and media-literacy product. It collects public syndicated feed items, groups reports that appear to cover the same event, displays publisher-level context, and links to the original publishers.

Balance News does not produce original reporting and does not guarantee that a cluster, publisher label, summary, image, or feed item is complete, current, or correct.

3. Publisher context

Political lean, factuality, ownership, country, and state-funding labels are editorial estimates assembled from public research. They describe publishers, not individual articles, authors, or the truth of a specific claim. Unrated publishers remain unrated.

4. Third-party content

Headlines, excerpts, images, trademarks, and linked articles remain the property of their respective owners. Balance News uses publisher-provided syndicated feed material for aggregation, comparison, attribution, and commentary and sends readers to the original source.

5. Balance Pro

• Balance Pro is offered as an auto-renewable monthly or yearly subscription through Apple's App Store.
• The localized price, billing period, and any available trial are shown before you confirm purchase.
• Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation.
• Your subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged within 24 hours before renewal.
• You can manage or cancel through your Apple Account subscription settings. Refund requests are handled by Apple under its policies.
• Pro features currently include complete comparisons, unlimited blindspots, Your Edition controls, private coverage habits, saved story summaries, and custom widgets.
• Saved summaries and source context remain available on device, but the original publisher page may still require internet access or a separate publisher subscription.

6. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to interfere with the service, bypass subscription controls, misuse publisher content, reverse engineer protected portions of the app except where law permits, or use Balance News to violate another person's rights.

7. No professional advice

Balance News is not legal, financial, medical, safety, travel, or emergency advice. Verify consequential information with the linked reporting and qualified sources.

8. Availability and warranty

Feeds can fail, change, or disappear without notice. Balance News is provided “as is” and “as available,” to the maximum extent permitted by law, without warranties of uninterrupted availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Balance News and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service or reliance on third-party reporting.
